So, it has happened, not great, but your Ubiquiti device has failed. At The Tech Geeks we want to get you back and running as quickly as possible. Here are two key things to note.
a. Your Ubiquiti device must be less than 12 months old - Ubiquiti only provides a 12 month warranty on their products.
b. A Ubiquiti warranty is a return to base warranty. You are requested to return the faulty item (unless dead on arrival) at your own cost. The Australian warranty centre will then return the replacement to you at their cost.
To facilitate the replacement, we ask you first to go through the Ubiquiti RMA process. This will allow Ubiquiti to run basic checks and confirm they believe it should be replaced. At the end of the process, they will issue you with a returns number, often suggesting shipping to the USA. Don't panic, we do the replacement right here in Australia, but we just need that final authorisation to make it happen.
So let's get moving ....
The required information before starting a RMA Request to Ubiquiti are the MAC Address or Serial Number of the device or accessory and in some cases, you also need the name of the supplier from where you bought the Ubiquiti device or accessory and proof of purchase. You also need to login or create a Ubiquiti account to create the RMA request.
Step 1: To submit and RMA request, go to:
Step 2: Ubiquiti will ask you to login or create a Ubiquiti account.
Step 3: It will ask for the MAC Address or Serial Number of the device or accessory. When Ubiquiti find your device or accessory, you will have a comment box to be able to explain the details of the fault and attach photos and submit your RMA request. If the device or accessory can't be found, please proceed to Step 4.
Step 4: If the device or accessory can't be found, you will need to type the name of the device i.e UDM-Pro, G4 Bullet, etc.
Step 5: After looking for your device or accessory, it will ask for the Seller Information.
This process is mainly geared to USA Ubiquiti resellers so you won't find The Tech Geeks listed in there! Choose the "I could not find my seller" option and add in The Tech Geeks.
You will also need to upload our invoice as proof of purchase and from here you can describe the fault and submit the RMA request.
Step 6: To check your RMA request, login to your Ubiquiti account and go to:
https://rma.ui.com/dashboard/tickets
Step 7: Once your RMA request has been confirmed, please drop us an email at info@thetechgeeks.com with the RMA number, the MAC address of the device you have an issue with and what the problem is.
Step 8: The Tech Geeks will contact you with a returns address for the faulty item, along with an internal RMA number that will need to be on the label.
Step 9: You will then need to send the faulty items to the warranty centre. Once tested a replacement will be sent back out to you.
